Bunny Confusion

Lowri - We had an interesting day today.  TM went to take a close look at our bunnies.  If you remember, TM and PR bought four bunnies a while ago.  They got three females and a male.  PR had built a rabbit hutch with three separate pens.  TM put a female in each cage and the male in with one of them.

We figured it would be about now that the one female would be showing signs of imminent baby-bunny-bearing.  TM has been checking her for several weeks now.  Today, she took the male out of the cage and put him in the middle cage with a different female.  Imagine her surprise when the female immediately began chasing the male and bred it.

Okay...the bunny in the middle cage was/is a male and the bunny TM was told was a male was/is a female.  TM continued to watch in surprise.  LOTS of wild bunny sex was going on.  She finally pulled out the bunnies and checked.  Yup, the actions were appropriate.  She then pulled out the third female and checked her.  Oops - another male.  She checked out the first bunny - who she thought was pregnant.  She was relieved to see it was indeed a female - but obviously NOT pregnant as she had been co-habbing with a female.

TM went ahead and moved the bunnies around so both male bunnies were happy.  We should have baby bunnies in about 31 days.

Then PR and TM put one of the male bunnies in the freezer.  I bet it is cold there!  TM said we couldn't use two male bunnies.

TM - Wah, wa wa wa wah.

Lowri - Ohhhhhhh, puppy food.  I am liking this!

Gone to the Birds

Lorwi - JOY, OH JOY!!!  TM has started feeding me extra!  She has split my meals so I am getting food twice a day.  I'm not getting a lot extra but it is about 25% more than normal.  I LOVE food.

TM spent most of the day building the new duck yard.  PR came down with a load of gravel and dumped it in so she could level out their swimming pool.  He also cut a hole in the barn so they can go in and out of the barn.  The ducks now have indoor and outdoor yards, instead of an outdoor yard with a tarp for shelter.  The new duck yard is twice the size of their old yard.  TM is VERY pleased with it.  We will have some pictures of it tomorrow.

Here are a couple more pictures that MC took yesterday.  The first one is of me.  I got to herd the ducks.  The second one is of Sif.  She was hanging out under the tree while my boyfriend and then Dinah were herding the sheep.  While the two Pair o'Knees don't like having us herd the sheep, they understand that TM has the final word.  They know enough to go away while TM is working with us.

I am keeping my eyes on the two ducks.

Siffy being a good dog.

Boyfriend and Puppy

Lowri - My boyfriend was AWESOME today.

TM -Wa, Wah, Wah.

Lowri - Ohhhhhh...My boyfriend did an awesome job HERDING today!  TM and MC were dancing around after watching him.  He did things no one would expect a herding dog with seven weeks training COULD do.   Here is a video that MC took of him working.  At the very start, he is bringing in an escapee who ducked through the gate and ran off.  My boyfriend did it mostly on his own with very little help from TM.

Then there is this really nice picture of my boyfriend in the field with the sheep.

Storybook got to work the ducks.  TM stole this picture from MC's Facebook page.  Look at the intense look on her face!  In case you don't know, Story has tape on her ears to help them stand up.  They will firm up pretty soon and she won't need her crown.

Even I got to work today.  I got to put the ducks away.  It was fun working again, even if it wasn't for very long.  It was a good day!

Poor Daisy

Lowri - Remember I told you to RUN if you see TM with electric shears?  This is what I mean...

Fortunately, Daisy doesn't hold a grudge.

Five and a Half Weeks Along

Lowri - Oh me, I have three and a half more weeks to go!

Watermelon, I didn't see a watermelon!

I think I might be pregnant!

My normal svelte self.

Better Today

Lowri - The Mama is much better today.  We actually got some face time with her.  She is starting to clean up the back room and is planning on setting up my whelping bed there.  I have news for her.  I am planning on using HER bed.  It is VERY comfortable.

We got to go out and play with TM tonight.  She carried one thing back to the shed from the back room, and then she cleaned the yard.  She also used her staple gun to put the duck wire back up around the shed.  It had been getting pretty loose.  My boyfriend wasn't amused with all that noise, so he waited for us on the back porch.

Then TM brought out the grooming table and both of us got groomed.  Wow, no dog shows and we still got groomed.  I am the good dog and I put my feet up on the table legs to help TM boost me up.  My boyfriend just looks like he would rather be doing something else.  Good thing he is cute!

Back to Town

Lowri - TM's shot for her allergies really messed with her.  She didn't sleep much last night.  Finally got up early and headed back to town.  It was really early, we were surprised to see her.  I mean, it was still dark!  I thought TM was afraid of the morning dark.  We NEVER see her that early.  It was great.  Nice and cool.  We dashed around and pottied - in the dark!

After TM got back to town, she started feeling weird.  Ended up finishing out her day, but boy, she didn't have energy to do anything else.  Almost as soon as she was done, she went to bed.  At least she remembered to bring us in first.  She finally got up, but I think she is going to go back to bed once we come back in.

Monday Monday

Lowri - We had to stay outside in the run for most of the day.  TM was doing a bunch of small chores, killing time until her doctor appointment.  She went to see him because of her allergies.  Hopefully, he will fix them - for now anyway.

Some of her killing-time chores included doing all our pedicures.  She also SHAVED Daisy.  Word to the wise!  If TM approaches you holding electric shears - RUN!  Daisy, the peeking-knees, is NAKED!  There is no need to peek at her knees.  They can be seen in all their glory.  They aren't hidden at all.  TM left her with a little puff ball on the end of her tail.  Can you say SILLY?  Poor Daisy!

When TM got back from the doctor's place, she let us out of the kennel.  We got to go down to herd.  Or I should say, my boyfriend got to herd.  I did NOT!  I didn't even get to get out of the car.  My boyfriend got to herd MY sheep - in the big field.  TM was quite pleased with him.  He had a great time.  He even went to water - sort of, kind of, almost.  TM told him to and he went up to the trough and raised one foot.  TM helped him get in.

This evening I have been napping on the recliner.   I need lots of sleep.

Knocked up?

Lowri - Here are the pictures MC took of me today.  I have to tell you, you are going to be tortured with pictures of me for the next four weeks!
You can see my baby bump.

Hello, I would like SOME modesty left!

Lazy Saturday

Lowri - It rained all day today.  We didn't get to do much of anything.  TM put my boyfriend and me out in the run (it is sheltered), while she went to town.  I was proud of her, she did all of her shopping in the rain.  She was quite wet when she got home.

I have been sacked out on the recliner for most of the day since she got home.  It seems like I have needed a lot of sleep.  TM keeps dumping me off so she can go do stuff.  I don't know why she can't just sit there!

Tomorrow we will get to go herding.  At least, my boyfriend and Dinah will get to herd.  Even Story is going to get to play with MY ducks.  I am not going to get to herd.  That is WRONG!

Lost Thoughts

Lowri - TM has been having a hard time this week.  The computer does automatic updates.  On occasion, things go a bit wrong.  This time, she cannot do any kind of updating on my blog.  She is a bit frustrated.  She had to go to another computer to type my thoughts.  That hasn't worked out so far this week.  Then to add to the frustration, she is having an allergy attack.  Her eyes ITCH.  Since she is allergic to everything, she doesn't know what is causing this one.

Because of all that, TM has not been available to type my thoughts when I had some.  I guess those thoughts are gone forever.

Here is a picture of me and my boyfriend sharing our first dinner out.  We had some steak scraps.  It was very tasty!  Since we ate off the same plate, does it mean we are engaged?

Dog Show Weekend

Lowri - We had a good weekend at the dog shows.  We had lots of friends all crated and groomed in the same area.  My G'ma Janet was there!  I was so happy to see her, I about wagged my tail off!  I got to see my sister, Sally and my brother, Tommy.  On Saturday, I was the Best girl Cardigan.  Lots of my friends won prizes too.  My niece, Story, was in the puppy match.  She was very cute.  She needs to learn to trot.  It is an important skill for a show dog.

Today, I went Best of Breed.  G'ma Janet commented that I didn't need MC as a handler, I could do it all on my own.  TM pointed out the VERY important fact that MC is a REQUIREMENT because she is the treat dispenser!  Our judge did not think I earned even a quarter of the group.  TM said I had never looked better.

They had some Lure Coursing going on across the road.  It looked like so much fun!  I wanted to do it.  I am sure I could catch the "hare"!  TM wouldn't let me because I could be in a delicate condition.  My brother, Tommy, went and tried it several times.  He ran the whole course.  The judge thought he did a really good job.  I know he got at least two green awards.  He was awesome!

My boyfriend went with us.  I hesitate to say it, but we slept together on the same bed in the motel!  Of course, TM was the chaperone.  He wanted to chase the "hare" too.  Neither of us got to.  TM was being a party-pooper.

A Star Was Born

Lowri - I'm a STAR, I'm a STAR!!!  MorristownTV, our local TV station, interviewed me for their segment "I Bet You Didn't Know".  I asked for a dressing room, but I settled for an on-camera massage.

Now, when you watch this, keep in mind that I didn't have a speaking part.  All errors are THE MAMA's. My target audience (in addition to all the studly boys out there) was our local community.  TM didn't explain on camera that there are several ranking methods.  I am #8 in the All-breed standings and #9 against Cardigans alone (through July).  TM knew I wasn't the #1 owner-handled Cardigan, but is pretty sure I am the #1 cardigan handled by an amateur owner, so that is what she said.  Sheesh, all these qualifications!   Now I understand why all those other stars have lawyers (talk to MP if you have objections), talking heads (TM) and personal assistants (TM and MC).  I didn't realize being a star was so hard!

Oh well, it is what I was born for...

Here it is.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcpaDFKCgx4&feature=em-share_video_user

Me and My Boyfriend

Lowri - Here are some pictures of me and my boyfriend.  We are just hanging out.

My boyfriend is checking for bunnies.

Hurry up, TM.  There be bunnies here!

We just want a nap.  Quit taking our pictures.

I Can't Stand It

Lowri - I can't stand it.  I have kept my mouth shut for a month.  I haven't even ASKED TM to post this.  But, I just can't keep my thoughts to myself any longer.  He is so handsome, so debonair, so, so, PERFECT!  I LOVE him! You might think this is just the gushing of an adolescent.  It isn't!  I am a grown dog.

My boyfriend is staying with us.  TM is teaching him to herd.  He is so very sweet!  I hang with him all day long.  I eat with him.  Well, sort of.  TM feeds him in a crate so I won't steal his food.  AS IF!  Well, maybe, but the point is, we share meals, we share a yard, I even let him chase bunnies with me!  I share MY TM with him too.  Okay, so maybe I cut between them if TM is paying too much attention to him, but still, I SHARE!

I wonder if my new name is going to be Lowri Paws.  Maybe, Magic Paws.  Maybe Magic Moment Paws...  Lowri Paws, Lowri Paws...sigh.

Story and Farm Life

Lowri - Miss Story is in Tennessee!  MC is driving back from Nashville and is about home.  Story will get to meet with Dinah and Miss Monroe tonight.  I am not going to meet her until Friday or Saturday.  I can't wait to see her.  She is going with us to Chattanooga next weekend.

I didn't get to herd much today as TM thinks I should not be exerting myself that much at this time.  I basically got to do one outrun and then held the sheep so TM could open the gate.  I did get to stop an escape when the gate opened.  I made the sheep listen to me until TM said I could let them out.  That was FUN!

Then I got to check out some smells in the area while TM checked on the feed for all the animals.  When she was ready to go, she called for me to come.  I was busy smelling things.  She called me again.  Since I knew she was getting exasperated with me - and I was still smelling stuff - I did the only thing I could think of to finish smelling.  I squatted and peed while I finished smelling stuff.  It worked!  TM just laughed and said I was a baddog.  She said it in the voice that said she didn't really mean it.  It was great <G>

MC and MP

Lowri - Look out New Mexico!  MC has gone to visit MP.  She gets in about 2:00 and then they are going to watch my Daddy at an agility trial.  Then they are going out for some GOOD Mexican food.  MC was telling TM that she was going to roll in the green chili.  I didn't know that PEOPLE rolled in their food.  I am really impressed!  Is Mama Penni going to have to give her a bath for rolling in great smelling stuff?  I would recommend my Plush Puppy shampoo.  It makes my whites look so very white.

TM cleaned out the area under the bunnies this morning.  I can see that I will be spending LOTS of time in the garden where she dumped all that fragrant stuff.  I can't wait for the opportunity!

Massage Greeter

Lowri - In my position as Massage Greeter, I met an seven-year-old girl named Hope.  She is a real cute girl and she knows good places to scratch.  She has excellent taste (and tasted good too!) in that she thinks I am beautiful.  I like getting to see her when I can.  TM told me that she will be eight years old next week.  That is like...well, really young in dog years. Hope has the great, good taste to want a Cardigan of her own.  SMART kid!

We are going back to the farm tonight, but it is going to be late.  TM added in a very late client, because she says she has to work when there is work available.  I think I will use that excuse on herding.  We have to herd when there are sheep and ducks to herd - which is EVERY DAY out on the farm.  I guess we won't be herding tonight!

Life is Good

Lowri - FINALLY!!!  We saw four bunnies and a squirrel on our walk today.  I haven't seen any in a week or so.  I was afraid they had all gone to the big bunny home in the sky.  But there were FOUR tonight.  One even was kind enough to run so I got to dance and pretend I was going to chase it.  Life is good!

While we are going back to the farm tomorrow, MC is going to fly to New Mexico early, early on Saturday morning.  She is going clear out there to get a story.

TM - Wah, wah, wah, wa.

Lowri - OOOOOOOOOOOOh.  Not A story, she is getting my 1/2 niece, STORY.  I am not totally sure of the relationship.  She is my half sister's daughter.  The father is related somehow, I think.  Maybe my third cousin twice removed?  Who knows.  Anyway, Story is coming to live with MC.   They get home on Sunday.  I don't think I will get to meet her until the following Friday.

MC is going to be flooded with young girl dogs when I have my puppies.  MC is getting the best girl of mine too.  She already has a name picked out too.  Fable.  It will go great with Story.  The tales they will tell of these girls with tails <snicker>

Cardiped Pedigree

Lowri - TM has tried and tried to make the "testmating" feature of Cardiped work for her.  Tonight she figured out the secret.  This is what the pedigree will look like for my future children.  TM is trying hard not to shout about it, but she is very excited about my future children.  This pedigree is what you call an out-cross.

I hope it translates appropriately here.

Home Again

Lowri - Lexington was a bust for me.  Funny part was the judge on Sunday, moved Misses Libby and Coco Posh.  She decided on Coco Posh and gave her breed, then pointed to ME for Select.  Apparently, I look like Miss Libby.  She went "oops" and pointed to Miss Libby for Select.  I got zero, nothing, nada.

MC packed us up and we came home.  She brought me out to the farm and got video of the herding.  I am annoyed, because TM thinks I should only herd ducks for a while because everyone is hoping I am preggers.  She doesn't want to take any risks.  I told her I feel great, but she didn't care.

I guess I am going to be pampered and petted now.  Hmmm, not a bad thing at all.  I will be the princess.  I will get anything I want.  I will have to experiment with this.
