Babies!

TM here - Lowri was a tad busy with her brand new litter.  Right now the count is 9 babies.  6 are girls, 3 are boys.  3 of the girls are reds, everyone else is a brindle.  We believe there is at least one more on board.  I will give another update in the morning.  Lowri is being an excellent mama.

I took Lowri to the vet for an ultrasound at about 3:00.  I didn't feel things had progressed much.  Since she was so big, I wanted to make sure we didn't have any problems.  The reproduction vet is over an hour away.  By the time we got there, Lowri had already given birth to two girl puppies.  We did the ultrasound anyway.  Everything looked fine.  The puppies were moving around and no one was in distress.  By the time we got home, we had two more puppies.

The first four.  The light brindle is the boy.  The girls are two reds and the dark brindle.

Cheryl came over to assist and get some pictures.  Lowri was popping them out about every 15 minutes at that point.  She took an hour between #8 and #9.  She has been on break since then.  Both Cheryl and I felt at least one more puppy.

All nine are tucked in around Lowri.

Babies Soon

Lowri - TM insists on taking my temperature.  Now it is happening multiple times per day.  This morning my temp was 99.8.  Four hours later it was 98.5.  TM is vibrating with happy waves.  She is going to run out and buy some last minute stuff.  I ate my breakfast very well this morning and am now waiting for TM to feed me lunch.  I LOVE food.

TM looked at my temperature chart from last year.  She thinks I will have my babies in the morning.  I will have to decide if I think she is right.  TM took my picture a little bit ago.  She groaned when she lifted me onto the table <snicker>.
8 1/2 weeks from when I was bred.  63 days from the LH surge and 61 days from ovulation.

Is it a Blimp?

Lowri - My temperature is holding right at 99.5 - 100.2.  I am getting bigger by the minute.  TM is teasing me that I am a blimp.  I am pretty sure I will never get into the air - too much weight is dragging me down.

To make matters worse, TM is making me sleep in the whelping pen instead of on the bed.  KEVIN got to sleep on the bed.  All I can say is that TM didn't get a lot of sleep with him moving around.  Serves her right!  I would have cuddled with her and let her rub my belly.  Kevin wanted to play.

Kevin - I am over this all being about Lowri.  I barely get any attention.  TM just keeps looking at Low, petting on Low.  Low this and Low that.  When I finally got TM to myself, she wanted to sleep.  I am a puppy, I NEED to play!

Back to Town Early

Lowri - We came back to town early so TM could process the two goats that PR offed.  They smell YUMMY!  TM got them reduced to bags of meat and bags of bones.  I can't have any bones until after the puppies are here, but then I get them.  Drool!  TM even bought some goat milk for my babies.  She has stocked up on yogurt too.  YUM!

TM is insisting on taking my temperature twice a day right now.  I hear that it will be even more often later.  Oh goody...  Tonight, she shaved my belly and tomorrow I get a bath.  Oh goody again.

Kevin - We get goat for breakfast!  That will be amazing.  Other than that, nothing much happened for me.  TM is all about Lowri right now.  She even took more pictures of Lowri.  I tried to photo bomb them, but TM was too wily.

Rainy Day

Kevin - I was so close to getting to go out to track and herd.  TM even had her shoes, coat and hat on.  She opened the door, and stopped.  I tried to push her, but she wasn't having any of it.  I didn't get to do anything because it was cold and raining!  TM just shivered and shut the door.  I didn't get to do anything but sit on TM's lap - all day, every time she sat down.

Lowri - TM says I am as wide as I am long.  She is joking....I think.  All I know is that I can't get comfortable.  I get on TM's lap, I get off, I go to PR, I stretch out on the rug, I stretch out on the floor.  I CAN'T GET COMFORTABLE.  I am over this.  I have days to go.  TM has quit letting me try the stairs.  We have to go around the house to the ramp.  I can't even run anymore.  I plod.  ME!  I plod.  It is....awful.  I am waddling.  The only good thing is I get fed three times a day.  Morning, noon and night.  That part is good.  That is the only good part.  TM says the best part is almost here.

Chilly Saturday

Lowri - I got fed THREE times today!!!  Three times!  I LOVE my life!

Kevin - I went to town with TM today.  She needed my help at Tractor Supply.  I got to lead her around while she pushed her cart.  We bought LOTS of stuff.  She carried some treats around in her pocket and I got some when I sat.  I even let a young man pet on me.

Lowri - PR offed two goats today.  I am going to be well-fed.  YAY!  I've never had goat meat before.  I am sure I will love it.  I am drooling just thinking about it.

TM took my temperature again tonight.  I do not like it.  Then I sat on her lap and she stroked me between the eyes.  That was sooooooo nice.
